In November of 2003 Matthew set out from his then hometown of Santa Cruz and rode down the California Coast on his own to go to his parent's house in Chula Vista (located in the south part of San Diego) for Thanksgiving. These are the pictures from his ride, including a screenshot selfie from a public webcam, and pictures of his bike's punctured tire in Ventura.
